Bud grew up on Edisto. He spent nearly 30 years with South Carolina ETV commuting
to Edisto weekly. Now semi retired, he runs White Oak Farm. He and his wife Ann
are the local web design team Skidmore Creative Services

And for the past five years they've run Edisto Home Watch.
They live on property Bud's grandfather purchased after the 1940 hurricane. Bud's dad and grandfather were charter members of the Edisto Island Lion's Club. Bud's mother substitute taught at
the Edisto Island Elementary School, now the location of the Community Center. She occasionally
played piano or organ for church at the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island. Bud's dad was
active in the golf community at Fairfield after retirement.
Bud is active
and involved in the community serving as an officer of both the Edisto Island
Preservation Alliance and the Edisto Island Community Association. He is a past president
of the Edisto Island Historic Preservation Society and an active member of both EIHPS and
the Edisto Island Open Land Trust. He serves on the Board of Edisto Pride, the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. He volunteers weekly at Botany Bay Wildlife Management Area and is a member of the Edisto Art Guild. He enjoys spending his time out on the island.
